Crime scene 13.

2 Rival gangs see you in court. The Maida Black-Mailers in Blue, Gill, Lisa, Shirley Sarita, Di, Andreea, Nancy. Versus  the Vipers of Little Venice in Red. Louise, Dania, Tulay, Fadi, Sally,  Laurie.

After shooting drills and defence crimes the Game began. Superintendent Jo threw the ball. Lisa won the jump, Di intercepted result 1st murder. Within a minute Sally’s fast break murder 2. Fadi lead poled the way, easy passes, she was everywhere.

1 Blew off and Sarita was on. Shots were fired. Tulay took control of the ball. Dania ran in Red, Blue Nancy was killing it. Body count game 1 to the Red vipers . Di took a knife in the back and hit the floor. Shirley took 2 from the chalk line. Super Jo flashed the blue light! ‘travel’  We paid the penalty 24 seconds. Andreea played the ball low with a death wish. Laurie was fast but Gill was faster. Game 2 to Blue Blackmailers.

20.00 hrs Helicopters circled and the Sirens sounded. See you all next Wednesday for No crime or reason just funtastic play!

9th October 2019/ No coach!

We won the lottery with 13 players on Yom Kippur!
2 teams. The Donkey Paws, in Green Lisa, Di, Nancy, Andreea, AK, Tulay, Versus the Monkey Jaws in Plum Feddi, Sally, Sarita, Gill Laurie, Louise and Renee. Renee floated down from the Euro Millions rollover a excellent player giving everyone a run for their money! Lisa scored twice in a row EEYORE for the Donkeys!  Cheeky Monkey Feddi was next! The Green were in the lead then the Monkeys found their tail, swinging balls into the net at a rapid rate. Andreea retaliated with some amazing far shots. Ak catching rebounds, then popping them in. Monkey Sarita Joined the team and win-win. Di excelled herself catching and shooting. Subbing was smooth, 3 minutes per player and double for the plums. With no water breaks or stopping this worked well. Laurie got her 1 golden basket. Gill flew her fair share, Nancy too. Sally gave solid defence. The plums They were wining the postcode lottery. There was a few snatches and a couple of travels. Tonights numbers were 13 48 64. The scores were high! Tonight’s Lucky Star goes to Renee ! Welcome to the team. C U Next Wednesday

At Clarence court The Session started at 7pm A dozen Eggs some cracked rolled into the filthy battery Pen. Warming, laying and Shooting drills started.
At 7.15 the Poultry husband was still clearing up water spills and putting away the equipment from the earlier Cocks coop.
Coach Jo Edwina Curry measured the eggs in to size.
The Old Cotswold Blue Legbars, Sarita, Laurie, Shirley, Ak, Dania and Di. Versus The Burford Browns in Black. Louise, Nancy, Fadi, Lisa, Gilly, Tulay. Lisa won the Jump but the black were the first to score. Fadi scrambled  her team into a omelet of players of who’s marking who. Don’t mess with the Coach! Tulay was poached by 2 players and got 3 free throws. One boiled in and 2 sunny side down. A.K got all her eggs in one basket. Game 1 to the Legbars. Game 2, new plan, Feddi Whisked herself into a soufflé. Louise was battery hemmed in. Coach Jo exchanged white to yoke swopping Lou and Sarita. Game 2 Blue. Shirley got 2 free range. Double yoke’ers! Dania pickled and devilled her eggs over easy. The Egg timer rang 8pm, we all meringue. The Blue Won Hens down!

Yes it really was a fabulous session!

First some drills, which we managed to use later. Then 3 on 3 on 3 for a rolling game of defence and offence, then four on four.

Fedi, Dania, Lisa and Sally verses AK, Shirley, Rhonda & Andrea, some great passes, use of backboard (Lisa) and teamwork. AKs team managed to win by a basket as the whistle blew. Really fast game, some fabulous play by all, great coaching by Jo.

11th September

After being subjected to many years of insults – Shirley’s blue ball finally got the begrudging appreciation it deserved. As the ONLY ball 🏀 on court it’s services were called upon for the full hour.  So, the lesson that can be taken from this is : BRING YOUR OWN BALLS.
Great game Pinks were AK, Nancy, Gilly, Lisa, Blacks were Sarita, Andreea, Shirley and Josephine.

2 teams started warming up The Dixons of Dock Green Sally, Louise, Fadi, Shirley, versus The Great Red Train Robbers AK, Tulay, Dania and Gill. The Justice of the Peace blew the whistle and the game began. Ron Gill Briggs was the first to score followed by Buster A K Edwards.

The  Criminals were in the lead till Detective Shirley Demsey and Fedi Makepeace managed to arrest a basket. Sally and Tulay had a hand cuff situation. Green Ball. Sally played Columbo….theres one more thing.. as she popped the ball in the net. Game 1 to the Reds. Judge called Water break. Stasky passed to Dania Hutch who jumped a rolled the ball into the net. Inspector Morse wanted morse from Clouseau but Clouseau didn’t have a Clouseau, Gill was too fast. As was Ak. Glass houses. The Reds were wining.

Louise was fouled got 2 from the top of the Key stone cops but didn’t score. Game 3. Judge Jo swopped Gill for Lou. Lou turned to crime but crime didn’t pay, Lou turned her ankle. Gill got the green light and scored a promotion. On the last Shoot out the reds stole the show.

Tonights Cabaret started at 7pm. Sally Bowles blew the whistle at the KitKatKlub. The 2 teams
The Gold Coins, Gilda Gill, Laurie Krona, Nancy Dollar, Sarita Deniro Versus ,The Black Notes, Shirley Shekel, Lou Rupee, Euro Lisa, Stirling Tulay. All cashed up and ready to play the black were the first to raid the piggy bank. The Gold coins had a windfall of 4 in a row! The Blacks were losing money hand over fist, giving to charity and to the Zoneless. The big issue here was Shirley’s one arm bandit caught Laurie in the tummy.. Sorry!  Laurie won the pools with 2 baskets! Nancy popped her dollar. The Gold coins were building up revenue, ‘Who’s passing to me’ said Sarita De Niro. Lisa Euro was robbed! The Blacks cash machine was almost empty. Stirling Tulay paid out a few baskets. Lou Rupee cashed her ISA but the Gold coins were now playing the stock exchange they had Big money!  Gilda Gill added with a scratch card getting another quid from the tax free line.

Spondoolezzz! it was 8pm. Tonight jackpot winners without doubt The gold coins.

My beautiful launderette.
Layups started at 7pm, Jo took us into weaves at 7.06. 2 teams  were formed at 7.21 and the hot cycle began.
The Brilliant whites in Black. Lisa, Andreea, Shirley Tulay and Laurie Versus the Stain Devils in Green. Louise, Sally, AK,Gill, Dania. Dot Cotton blew the whistle to start. Devil Ak and Sally were on fast wash, getting their undies in the laundry basket. 5 balls up before a Fairy called Lisa broke the cycle for the brilliant whites. First wash 7-1 Green stains. Game 2. The Spin. Dot shuffled the teams swopping Sally with Laurie. Shirley took a tumble dryer, while Sally’s ankle got caught in the wringer. Sarita came to the rescue with fag and black bib. The machines were now running on fast-spin. Andreea got out her dirty washing a direct hit to the laundry basket. Shirley ran to the dryers to score . Sarita was on extra Rinse. Laurie jumped out of the delicates and made a terrific basket. Gill passed and shot to the top of the ironing pile. Sally came back on full steam ahead. Tulay with Bold rebounding and anti crease. Andreea who thought she was out of conditioner made some terrific shots with Comfort. Stain Devil Dania removed stains we didn’t even know we’re there. There were free throws from the washing line for Lisa, Ak, Andreea and Shirley. OMO! Beep Beep it was 8pm The service wash was over. We had to vanish…Off to the airing cupboard.

Radio Ga Ga….We all tuned in to the BBC (Basket Ball Club) 19.04 DJ Jo formed 2 stations. Radio 1 ready to Play. Radio 2 Layups and stretches. Pirate Station Sarita broadcast from the side. Radio 3 Let the Chart Run down begin. The 2 teams in Black 5Live. Sally, Sarita, Tulay, Nancy and Shirley versus In Red Smooth Radio Louise, Dania, AK, Feddi and Laurie. AK dedicated the 1st tune to Dania from the jump, the first hit. Shirley was the next to spin the disk, making it 1 all. DAR DAR DAR DARDA DA DA DA…The Fed in Red knocked the Black off the top spot. Sarita played to Nancy, Scratch Nancy turned up the volume. DAR DAR DAR DA DADA DA DA DA…Dania got on the same wave length and the Red were leading. News Flash! The session 1 & 2 to Red. A quick Ad break session 3. DJ Jo changed Decks. Sally requested the ball. Shirley asked for a chart run down ‘who’s on who’. Was it a Hit or Miss ! DJ Jo called foul, Radio 2 from the top for Shirley. Talk Radio the Travel programme. The ball was taken from the side. Tulay fought hard under the basket but AK was this weeks number one Record. 7pm started the Charge of the light brigade.
The 5 Red uniforms Lisa, Gill, Tulay, Lil , Di.  and 6 In Black Amour Dania, Louise, Nancy, Shirley, Sarita, Laurie. Brigadier Jo Blew the silver whistle to Charge! Red won the attack leading straight to a Birthday Bang! Black Shirley Banged and equalled the score. The ball changed sides, the Birthday Bings were on fire. The Basket Bangs kept coming. It was a draw, Then the Red pipped the black to the post! Battle to the Red. A quick minutes truce and the battle commenced. Sarita lead her Black troops up to the front line, Tulay held ground under the Red Key. Di broke through the lines.. Bang! Sarita banged again bringing black in charge. Red Lisa got 3 amazing bangs on target. Nancy took the ball forward, Di brought it back. The game was extremely tight. The Gun scores were close. It was a birthday explosion! BADA-BING -BANG! 8pm The troops marched off to the Waterway. Happy Birthday Sarita, Nancy, Shirley, Tulay and absent Sally.

‘In your face Purple Barbies’ Louise, Sally, Diane and Gilly Versus ‘Who’s Marking who Blue Barbies’, Nancy Lisa, Laurie, Shirley. Blue started with the Ball, Shirley scored twice for the Blue ‘Who’s marking who’ Barbies, before ‘in your face’ Diane equalled the score. The Game was on! Style icon Barbie Sarita arrived wearing #bestoutfit Snazzy Slacks and fluo top! She Joined the Blue Barbies and the game took on a new shape. Equestrianism Barbie Sarita rode the court . Athletic Lisa Barbie got a ball in the face! #ouchBarbie ..Feel the love Island! Water-break! Game 2 Sarita changed outfits teaming up with life Guard Barbie Laurie. Nurse Nancy Barbie flew in and took the ball. Self harming Barbie Lisa landed on the floor. Louise ‘in your face’ Purple Barbie stuck close to Shirley. Ooh Lala negligee Barbie Sally kept dropping the balls in. Caribbean Barbie Gilly was on Fire. Game 3 to the purples.
Air Steward Barbie called Travel. Too many Cook Barbies called fouls,…but with No Coach Barbie to call them, we played on. At 8pm  it was bedtime Barbie. Night Night. #Bibsoff #PJ’son.  See you all next week, Drinks at the Waterway to Celebrate 5 Basketball Barbies Birthdays.

50 years of Moon landing. 17th July 2019

2 by 2 the girls gathered to the moon landing court.  2 drills and a warm up we set in 2 teams. The Twin Towers in Green Lisa, AK, Shirley and Laurie. Versus in Black the Moon Eclipse, Nancy, Gilly, Fedi, Diane and Louise.

3-2-1- We have lift off. AK won the Jump passed 2 Lisa and the Greens were off Tout-suite. 2 small steps by AK scored 2 baskets for the rest of green-kind..Fedi and Gill eclipsed each making the score 2-2. It takes two to Tango, Fedi found her new dance partner in Diane. Diane had landed! She was here and everywhere, she was fouled, she was knocked, she was hit in the 2 face.. too Sorry! The game was 2 tight. No tea for 2 until one team scored 7. Too hot! The Goodie 2 Shoes in Green won the first game 7-6. Game 2, AK was first on the score board. Tootie fruity! Laurie got 2 baskets. Shirley Armstrong got 2 from the free throw. Nancy was too fast & sharp on her bicycle made for 2. Louise tried for 2 soups but only landed 1. A step too far called Jo Jo ‘Travel!’ At 8pm we came to a lightyear halt. Score 3-4 to Blacks…Mission accomplished!

Tonights Runaway trains Paddington Platform 4 in Plum (Gill, Andreea, AK, Lill) and Kings Cross in Black on Platform 5 (Feddi, Shirley, Louise, Lisa, Dania) Station Master Coach Jo blew the whistle and the game began. The AK-Express  left platform 4 at a rate of knots, scoring the first 3 baskets. Euro-star Feddi followed close behind not stopping until she scored twice. Mind the Gap as Dania Slipped in from behind. Hoot-Hoot–Hoot’s on Andreea said Ticket collector Shirley. I am said Lou suffering bad engineering work. A minutes tea break at the buffet car. Gill Screened a diversion. Lou’s elbow collided with Fedi’s front bumper! Accident! Sorry Leaves on the line. Lisa got a first class ticket with a wild long shot. While Andreea planned her journey just right, dropping baskets at each station. Lill impressed us all with her underground technics darting everywhere, even remembering names and routes. Louise Screamed as a jump ball approached, disturbing the coach. AK caught her rebounds again and again causing a packed platform! Stand back from the line called Station master Jo. On time 8pm we had reached our destination. 3 games. 1Draw. 1 to Paddington Plums and 1 to Kings Cross. CUNWednesday. For more steam train hot fun on the track.

The birds flocked into the centre, to shoot game. After some Ostretching 2 teams were formed by height an agility.
The Red Roosters, Andreea, Fedi, Sally, Gilly. Versus The Blue Peahens Louise, Lisa, Shirley, Nancy. Mother Coach Hen was lost. The Bluebirds started with the ball, Feddi was nesting for the Roosters leading the migration southward. The Red Roosters were the first to score. Lisa used her stork like limbs to land the first 4 baskets for the bluebirds going North. The red was still in the lead. Rhonda perched on the side straight from NYC stretching her feathers before joining the pretty bluebirds making it 5 against 4. There was a lot of squawking huffing and puffing. The egg was in, the egg was out, there was even some Fowl play. A bird in the hand was worth 2 balls in the bush!  The early bird Nancy caught the worm. Sally squawked for the red. Whistle! Andreea laid a golden egg. Louise unexpectedly cuckoo’ed a rebound. Who’s marking tee-whit-ta-who ? Ruffled feathers! The birdsong became deafening! Every little bird wanted to be heard. All hot and flustered and a bird bath water break, the birds calmed down. The Blue tits lost 2 games but left 4 nil up. ….Something to whistle homing about.

Champagne: 2 teams, The 5 Bollingers in Orange Fedi, Ak, Shirley, Laurie, Gilly versus the Tattingers a case of 6 in Cherry. Louise, Nancy, Dania, Andreea, Sarita and Lisa. Coach Kir Royal blew her silver whistle. The game began after drills of Clicquot and Pol Rogeroll. Fedi was the first to pop the cork! Cheers for bolli! The Orange clinked their glasses Pommer’ing the ball into the net, bubbling up a fine score of 7-1. Game 2  ‘Bucks fizz’ more baskets for the orange. The Tattingers were getting drunk, missing their shots. Coach Kir swopped Feddi with Louise and the Cherry’s started to catch up. Bottoms up from Dania as she sipped a basket in from the side.  Laurie Perrier caught the ball but was too surrounded to pass. AK to the rescue catching rebounds and knocking back the baskets. The hall was hot and the Champagne was not chilled. Nancy was kept in reserve and had a bad reaction to the Rose.
At 8pm I dedicate a toast a glass to X-Badabing and friend who lost her life this week,

Tonight’s big secret was all about keeping Josephine 30th Birthday surprise. Cake, Gift and Badabing Fiz was waiting behind Sarita civil disobedience sitting on the bench. Making a protest and taking photos of the game.
The 2 teams. The Green Meanies consisted of Shirley, Dania, Nancy, AK, Laurie and against the Red and Ready’s Andreea, Feddi, Lisa, Louise Jenny, and Rhonda. First to score for the Green was Dania followed by Shirley.
Dania was on fire tonight scoring again and again. With AK’s height the Reds didn’t stand a chance.
2 water breaks later, Josephine evened the teams. The red won a round. Jenny subbed more than she should have.
Three hip hooray for Jenny for she’s a jolly good fellow.
 
At 8pm it was birthday cake, booze for Jo.

The Nominees gathered in the great court hall busying themselves with warmups and shooting drills while waiting for Queen Jo to enter with this years Honours List. Once assembled the Queen split the players into 2 teams.
The OBE’s (Obsessive Basketball Efforts) in Blue, Louise, Feddi, Nancy, AK, Andreea, Tulay. Versus The MBE’s (Mad-for-it Basketball Evangelists) in Green, Sarita, Gill, Laurie, Sally, and Shirley. The OBE’s scored first with a team effort between AK, Feddi and Nancy. The MBE’s took their time before Shirley made the green basket to the list. Sarita was first to bow to the Queen finding herself on the floor. No foul was called and the game played on. In between a couple of water breaks and subbing, AK collected her OBE for services rendered to the net. Nancy received her’s for catching, shooting and all round team player. Sally was awarded MBE for best blocking. Fedi for Travel. Tulay for a near miss finger Jam. Laurie for marking. Gill for dodging her Marker. The award of the evening went to Andreea for her services to Drama. Her latest film ’Don’t touch my Heir’ The ceremony was fast hot and beautifully exhausting.

To celebrate 75 years of D.Day Basketball-day. AKA  B-day (Bidet).Tonight  the Veterans arrived in their droves, Queen Josephine split them into 2.
HMS Ballfast in Seafaring Green, Louise Jenny, Sally, AK, Shirley, Nancy. Fighting for freedom, The Red Re-Fusiliers Dania, Sarita, Laurie, Gill, Andreea and Feddi. Operation Overlord the game began. Louise blew her own trumpet being the first to score. Feddi the next to Dunk-kirk the ball. The reds had control. The greens were all at sea. Dania and Sarita lead the red landings. Then the tide changed AK’s rebounding earns her a chest full of medals. Sally parachuted in under the net. Nancy played with military precision. The Greens were the first to reach 7. Feddi took 2 from the free throw. Do-dah Hitler only had one ball! Humbug said Andreea who hated subbing landed 2 direct hits from the free throw line receiving a knighthood. We’ll fight them on the beaches, the reds used their secret weapon. Remember ladies Queen Jo is always right…even if she is wrong.   At 8pm the time and the red arrows flew passed. Hands in…God save the Queen! We’ll meet again don’t know where don’t know when…..but i know will meet again next Wednesday!

We were all on fire!

Blacks, Dania, Akanksha, Jenny & Tulay verses the Pinks, Shirley, Sally, Gilly & Laurie, the blacks literally ran away with the ball, Dania & Akanksha were amazing MEN of MATCH, intercepting, weaving, jumping. So Superhero Jo stepped in to even up the play as Tulay sat out to catch her breath. Suddenly the Pinks were winning, whoop whoop. Laurie changed to black and Tulay was all Pink, some great baskets from Gilly & Shirley – and yes my first born is engaged to Max, so a Jewish wedding of sorts to come! Mazaltov ! Good game everyone

Last night Coach Jo took the evenings frolics we had the Pinks :AK, Rhonda, Laurie, Tulay, Gilly and special Guest Appearance Sian !

They benefitted from skill and kick ass attitude. The Blacks gave as good as they got and then some ! : Sarita,Nancy, Jenny, Shirley and Lisa.
